Prehab Neutral Spine Conditioning - Level 2

Welcome to PT on Demand powered by the Healthy Posture Club. The Neutral Spine Functional Integration workout series is designed to help those with active pain conditions or functional limitations safely condition themselves to perform daily tasks from healthy posture. Perform this level 1 workout for 2 weeks, then schedule a follow-up telehealth PT session with your PT on Demand physical therapist or PTA to learn the level 3 workout in the series.
This workout conditions you to apply the 4 Principles of Neutral Spine Alignment when getting in/out of chair and when going up stairs.
1. Chest Lift® to stack the upper back and rib cage on top of the pelvis.
2. Head Nod® to position the skull on top of the rib cage so that you can unload the neck.
3. Pelvic Curl® to position the pelvis underneath the rib cage for best support and to unload the low back.
4. Inward Spiral® of the hips to restore symmetrical loading through the hips, knees and ankles.
